The 2008-2009 budget for
Fremont County School District 1 totals $25.5
million. Of that amount, 77 percent is directed
to salaries and benefits. Local taxes contribute
$6 million to the current total budget, with
$17.7 million coming from the state school
funding model. By comparison, the 2007-2008
fiscal year budget was $22.2 million.
Under the school funding
model adopted by the Wyoming State Legislature,
school districts are funded on the basis of
their Average Daily Membership, or ADM. This
funding has increased from $8,959 per ADM in FY
2005 to $13,844 per ADM for FY 2009, a 54.5
percent increase in funding. The current year
funding is based on an ADM of 1,746 students.
