Employment Overview

Thank you for your interest in Fremont County School District #1.  Lander is a community of just over 7,000 residents.  We're located at the base of the Wind River Mountains in west-central Wyoming.  Our district's enrollment this year is around 1,740 students.

To begin the application process, interested applicants must use the AppliTrack online application to view details on current openings, and to begin an online application form.  Paper application forms are no longer accepted.

If you need assistance and/or need a computer to complete an application, please come to the Central Administration building (at 863 Sweetwater) during normal business hours.

   

Certified and Classified openings

To apply for a position within Fremont #1, complete the online application process.  We no longer accept paper applications for administrative, certified, or classified openings.

For certified staff: attach to your online application the following items:

  • A letter of application
  • Current resume
  • College transcripts (copies will be accepted for application)
  • Three current letters of reference

You must be endorsed in the area for which you are applying. The district requires you to currently hold or be eligible to obtain a Wyoming teaching certificate. Certification MUST be obtained prior to the beginning of the school year.

For classified staff: To apply for a classified (non-teaching) position complete the online application process. Attach the following information: letter of interest, current resume, and 3 letters of recommendation. Hourly wage is based on experience with a placement for out-of-district people at a maximum of step 3. 

   

Salary and Placement

Salary placement is based on experience and education. To view salary schedules for all employment types (certified, classified, extra-duty, and administrative), go to the Business Office and click on salary and benefits.

Paraprofessional positions require two years of study (48 semester credits) at an institution of higher education OR an associate's degree OR pass the district's basic skills tests.
