The state WY-Topp window closes today and I am happy to report that Lander Middle School finished all testing on Wednesday.  I believe that it went very smooth, we had no major issues.  Now, we sit and wait for scores.  We have been told to expect them in early September as the state still has some work to do before scores can be released.

On Monday, May 14th at 6pm, we will have our last PIE meeting of the year.  We will discuss results of our student climate survey that was given.  In addition to survey results, we will also discuss some of the planning we are working on for the 2018-2019 school year.  I would like to invite parents and families to attend.

On Thursday, May 17th at 6pm, we will hold our annual Awards Assembly.  Student Council does an incredible job of putting this together.  We will contact those parents of students who will be recognized through email to join us for the celebration.  Please check your inboxes on Monday for more information.

Dates to mark on your Calendar:

  • May 14th – PALS Outreach Assembly, Chinook Winds
  • May 14th – PIE Meeting, 6pm
  • May 17th – Awards Assembly, 6pm
  • May 21/22 – Chromebook turn in
  • May 23 – Locker Clean Out
  • May 24th – Last Day of School, 1/2 day

WEEK AT A GLANCE:

Student Council held the last school dance of the year – it was a great turnout.  StuCo raised over $1,000 that will go toward projects for next year.  Thanks to Nate Shoutis and his DJ crew for providing the music.  Thank you to our parents that helped chaperone:  Danielle Higginbotham, Marty Brammer, Traci Darr, TJ Fousek, Andrea Dockery, Elizabeth Smith, Andi Hill, and Vanessa Hitchcock.  Thanks to school staff that also hung out.  We got a couple of photos of kids dancing – they are a little dark and it's difficult to see but we also have one of some of our 8th graders hanging out.

Laser Tag:  On Thursday, LMS students earned Laser Tag for one of their PBIS awards.  Students were able to use their Cub Coins to purchase time and go in and play.  It's always a huge hit not only for the students but the staff that get to play too.  We didn't realize that our very own Casey "Clutch" Widhalm was such a strategy guy.

Looks like it might be a rainy, dreary weekend.  Good time to come out and partake in the Family Game night tonight at 6pm in the LMS Commons.  If you are out and about, stay dry.

Have a great weekend!!
