Hello Tiger Family,
Well first, hats off to Cameron Kistemann and her team as they just finished wrapped up three nights of incredible performances of the musical Bye Bye Birdie. I hope that you all had a chance to see that production as our students absolutely shined as they showed off their vocal and acting skills after months of dedication and hard work. To all of you parents, staff and helpers who had anything to do with this production, please accept my extreme gratitude for a job well done!
Congrats to our freshmen boys basketball team who won the championship at the Pete Robinson Memorial Tournament in Rawlins this weekend, what a great way to start your season boys! Meanwhile both boys and girls teams earned wins this weekend in the Powell/Tournaments. The girls will host the Lander Classic this weekend, while the boys will be on the road at the Douglas Tournament. Good luck to both teams. This Wednesday we will host the final student celebration of the fall semester at 2pm in the LVHS Auditorium, the agenda (subject to change) currently includes: LVHS Student Publications, National Honor Society Blood Drive, All State Band and Choir, Volleyball, Cross Country, Wendy's High School Heisman, and the WHSAA Sportsmanship Awards (one from VB and one from FB). Parents you are always welcome at these and as a recommendation from the PIE parents I will be including as I have above a brief agenda so that you know when your son/daughter may be recognized. If you have further questions or clarification, please don't hesitate to let me know.
Tonight our LVHS Bands will perform their winter concert and tomorrow night our LVHS Choirs will host with both shows starting at 7pm in the auditorium. The Tiger swimmers will host the Lander Quad on Friday night, and the Lander Lady Tiger Basketball team will be home at their Lander Classic tournament this weekend, all other teams will be on the road. The FBLA will host its semiannual Finals Study Session on Thursday with a chance to work with teachers from the different departments prior to finishing up the semester. This will begin at 6pm in the library and include pizza.
Parents, please do not forget that as we close our semester we will be working closely with students to finish up any missing assignments (M's) and trying to ensure that each standard is at a minimum proficiency level of 2.5. If that does not happen prior to semester, your student will be given an Incomplete (I) and given a plan to finish that work up next semester as a way to guarantee that we meet the needs of Every Student, Every Day! Please let me know if you have concerns or questions as you monitor your students progress.
I hope you all have an amazing week as we look forward to another one here at LVHS!
Brad Neuendorf, LVHS Principal
