Hello Tiger Families,

Wow!  Lander Valley High School just had one of the most spirited homecoming weeks in recent history.  I would like to especially thank our new student council advisor, Mrs. HIllary Reisig for her incredible effort to make it a wonderful week at LVHS!  The amazing week was topped off by incredible attendance at the Homecoming Dance.  We are so lucky to have a student body who embraces all the events and activities at LVHS and we are proud to create a place at LVHS where our students can show off that incredible school spirit!

We believe that once we involve our students in our long list of co-curricular opportunities we have strengthened our ability to ensure that we are able to meet all of our students needs.  To that end I would like to share with you all our current list of our clubs and activities at LVHS.  If your son or daughter is not currently involved in something that keeps their interest high in school then please consult this list and let me, the advisor listed, or a counselor know how we can help facilitating this.  Here is the link to that brochure: Clubs and Activities Brochure

I am proud to inform you all that the incredible work we have been doing in Fremont 1 and LVHS is being sought after at a state and national level.  Mrs. HIllary Reisig and Mrs. Shawna Morgan are presenting today in Laramie at the AdvancED Conference.  AdvancED is a world-wide school accreditation company and LVHS will actually reach a milestone of 100 years of accreditation from this firm next year!  They are both presenting on our work as a professional learning community specific to how we define what we want our students to know and be able to do and how we ensure that they get there….Every Student…Every Day!  They will later present at the Innovations in Education Conference towards the end of the year.  Mrs. Morgan and Mrs. Giesmann from our math department will present later next year at the prestigious National Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference about how this work is benefitting our math students.

LVHS has recently added to programs for our students through our Title I program with our new Language and Math Labs.  Parents who have students in those class were mailed a special invitation to attend, however all parents are invited to this event at 6pm on Thursday (9/27)  Our talented teachers, Mrs. Giesmann and Mrs. Kostreva will be highlighting what this exciting addition will do to benefit our students.

Good luck to all of our sports teams this week, most are on the road however we can support our girls swim team at The Bruce on Friday against Worland.  Friday night will also be the County 10 Football Rivalry with Riverton Hosting the game kicking off at 7pm.

Have a great week Tigers!
