Hello Tiger Families, 

I am excited to report that we began our Advanced Placement testing today and this will continue for the next two weeks at LVHS.  We are very proud of earning this past year the honor of AP Honor Roll for increasing our accessibility to the test while also increasing our performance.  This year we added two additional AP courses and test, AP Spanish LIterature and Culture and AP Spanish Language and Culture.  We also have AP Biology this year which we have had in years past, however did not offer it last year.   These are incredible courses with increased rigor that will definitely prepare students for the challenges of college. I strongly encourage parents to look at these options when helping to plan with their students and try to have them take at least one of these courses in their high school career. For those enrolled this year here is the schedule which is set by The College Board:

Congratulations to the Tiger Track team for a great Shane Brock Invitational that saw many personal bests and even a school record with our 400 meter relay team of Anja Harms, Edain Rogers, Leah Brown, and Madi Chance.  Included in the day was a special tribute to coach Bob Harms who is in his 50th consecutive year as a coach for the LVHS track team, we thank him for his time, care, and passion he has brought to our program over the years!  They will be in Powell this weekend for regionals, before heading to the State Track Meet in Casper next week.  

The boys and girls soccer teams both earned victories over the weekend with wins over Newcastle.  They will both play Riverton tomorrow at home in the Keeper of the Gold Game and then the boys will play Pinedale in Worland this Friday to play-in to state which will be held in Jackson next weekend.  Congrats to the boys and girls golf teams who have had a great few weeks of competition in their spring season.  This past weekend the boys team won as team shooting 302. Jaren Calkins (70) 2nd Place, Dominic Yates (71) 3rd Place, Gavin Dixon (79) 4th Place, Wilson Brockie (82) 7th Place, and Zach Grogan 109.Lady Tigers take 2nd, Jaclyn Hudson-(94) 2nd place, Rachel Stoinski (97)-4th and Laina Martin (111)-10th. Mackenzie Janish (133) and Kenzie Harrison (130).

The LVHS Choir had a great performance tonight, but you have one more chance to catch a concert with our final band concert of the year on Thursday at 7pm. On Wednesday we will have our final celebration of the year where we will recognize our FBLA, FFA, Speech and Debate, Night at the Museum, Art Symposium along with our individual department awards and our student of the year. If you want to see an action packed celebrations focused on curricular excellence, well don't miss this one!
