Hello Tiger Family,
Congratulations to Mrs. Kistemann and all of the students who had a role in the musical Oklahoma. They put on three great nights of entertainment for our school and community and I am so impressed by the quality of the performance and the number of students who were involved in the production.
In regards to my pride in our music program, I would especially like to congratulate the following students who were just named All-State Choir or Orchestra:
All State Choir: McKenna Kail, McKella Stigers, Shae Harmon, Savita Forbis, Sam Kistemann, Tim Kistemann, Preston Plaisted, T Whiting, and Malachi Wheeler
All State Orchestra: Rebecca Whiting, Emillee Sheridan, Abby Copeland, Kate Wilmot, Olivia Fowler, and Magda Escadera
Come listen to how great our musicians are next week with the choir performing Monday, December 10 and the Band on Tuesday, December 11th, both concerts begin at 7pm.
Congratulations to our Mock Trial team finished 3rd place in the state during their competition in Cheyenne prior to Thanksgiving. Special thanks to Mrs. Moss and our Attorney Coaches who worked so hard to get our students ready for this great experience.
Please remember that we will run our normal schedule for the rest of the semester, making no special final exam schedule. This means during the last week of school students will attend their normally scheduled classes on Monday-Thursday, on Friday, December 21 this is a half-day for the district. As usual, on the last day of the semester this day is reserved for students who need to make-up finals or other pieces of evidence. We will send letters specifically to students who will need to attend on Friday the 21st. Students not receiving this letter will not be required to attend. Students who do have to attend will all be out by 12:30 but may be released as soon as their work in all classes is complete. Please encourage your student to take care of any missing or incomplete work as soon as possible to ensure they will be able to receive grades at the end of the semester. Work not completed or not proficient by December 21 will be turned into an Individual Learning Plan and will need to be recovered during second semester or summer school.
Our winter sports schedules start this week with all of our teams on the road after several weeks of practice and preparation. Good luck to all of our sports teams. For those of you who did not see it, we are currently leading the Casper Star Tribune All-Sports Competition in both boys and girls after our great fall performances. The Casper Star Tribune gives points for our teams performances at state and calculate year-end winners for both boys and girls at the end of the year. Our fall teams got us off to a great start and I know winter sports will just help to strengthen our lead!
We will have our monthly PIE meeting tonight, Tuesday, December 4th at 6pm in the LVHS Popo Agie Room.
