NAEP testing information

What is it?:  The National Assessment of Educational Progress is the largest assessment of what students know and can do in various subject areas.

Who is tested?: NAEP tests a sample of students in fourth and eighth grades nationally.

How is it used?: The assessment is administered uniformly using the same sets of questions and results serve as a common metric for all state and districts.  This provides a clear picture of progress over time to monitor teaching strategies and skills.
