About Mr. Ley
Hello, my name is Kevin Ley, pronounced Lee, and I am the Assistant Principal at Lander Middle School for the 2015/16 school year. My family and I are very excited to be back in the Cowboy State and in particular the Fremont County area. I graduated high school from Riverton High School and I earned a Bachelor’s of Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming. Soon after graduation from The University of Wyoming my wife and I moved to Alaska and began our teaching careers. For the last nine years my wife and I have lived and taught in rural Alaska. Aside from teaching I coached numerous sports which included varsity girls’ basketball and wrestling.
I am excited to help the students of Lander Middle School achieve in all areas: academically, socially, emotionally, and in extracurricular endeavors. I strongly believe that a positive school climate and culture are essential for student growth in all areas. I believe that it is my responsibility to help provide a safe and collaborative school environment in which students, parents, and staff, feel safe to express their ideas and take intellectual risks.
I look forward to working together to make a successful school year for your student. Please remember that positive parental involvement in a student’s life is one of the biggest factors that contribute to the overall success of a student. If you ever have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at 307-332-4040 or KLey@landerschools.org.
