Tiger Family,

We are coming off of an amazing start at LVHS and I want to thank all the students, parents, and staff for their individual contributions.  We all know that it takes everyone working together to create a positive learning environment and I am just proud to be part of this Tiger team.   With a brand new block schedule our students and teachers quickly adapted and settled into their new classes, all while welcoming nearly 150 new students and 10 new staff members.   Although we still have work to do to ensure that our new Student Responsibility Block meets the diverse needs of our students, we are well on our way to improving our capacity to serve our entire student body.

This week our students will go to an Opportunity Class Fair to learn more about their options during this Student Responsibility Block.  We want to make sure our students know that when their responsibilities have been met they have a variety of options to choose from to extend their education at LVHS.   We hope to finalize selections and begin our SRB in full by Monday, August 31.

We hope to see all of you at our Open House this Tuesday 8/25 from 6-7:30.  This year we will have parents pick up their students schedules and then they can go to the classes they want when they choose.   We will not be following a bell schedule and hope this will allow our parents to come when they can fit it in their schedule and meet with who they need to talk to.  I look forward to seeing you all there!

Also tomorrow morning (Monday, August 24th) is picture day!  Picture packets were sent home during registration and are still available in the high school office.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to come visit with me or give me a call.
