LVHS Principal blog post 03-13-2017: State Dance champs!
Last Wednesday marked the end of the 3rd quarter already and with it comes Parent Teacher Conferences this Tuesday 4-7pm and Wednesday 3:30-7pm in the LVHS Commons. We look forward to hosting all of our parents that night and we hope that no matter the status of your students' current progress you will join us on one of these two nights for important conversations with their teachers. We have had record numbers for the past few conferences and hope that we can have even more parents to ensure your students progress!
I would like to congratulate the LVHS Dance team and their head coach Susan Cooper for an amazing couple of performances at the State Dance and Spirit Competition last Wednesday at the Casper Event Center. Many would have considered this year a rebuilding year for the dance team, however with one sophomore, junior, senior and five freshmen they "reloaded" and brought home two state championships in hip hop and jazz! This is the 6th consecutive state championship for the Tiger Dance team!
Congratulations to the Tiger Speech and Debate team and their coach Lannette Lahey who competed well at the State Speech and Debate Meet this weekend. Special Congratulations to Ashley Haratyk who placed 3rd in Extemporaneous Speaking, Allison Brown who finished 20th of 83 contestants in Congressional Hearing, and to the team of Brown and Haratyk for placing 2nd in Public Forum Debate.
Please join us in the auditorium on Tuesday after Parent Teacher Conferences for our Spring Band and Choir Concert starting at 7pm. If you remember we have had many individual and group successes from our band and choir program throughout the year and we hope you will take time to come and listen to their spring production.
On Friday you can catch Tiger Athletics back in action with the Boys and Girls Soccer team competing against Worland beginning at 3pm, the forecast looks nice and with Spring weather you better take advantage of a nice day when you have it. The LVHS Track team will travel to the Glen Legler Meet in Casper on Saturday to open their season. Good luck to both the Soccer and Track teams as they begin their spring season.
