 Hello Tiger Family,

I hope that you all had a great three-day weekend with your families.  At LVHS when we do not have school on Monday, we will have a Monday schedule on Friday.  This means that sludents on Friday will follow our typical Monday schedule going to periods 1,3,5 and SRB instead of going to all seven classes as they would normally on a Friday.  This allows our teachers to keep their blocks balanced and our students on track to complete the standards.

This past Monday we celebrated all of the clubs and activities that support our mission and vision at LVHS by getting students interested and engaged in extracurricular opportunities.  We highly encourage all of our students to become involved in at least one activity at LVHS as the research shows the value of these activities as it relates to student academic and social/emotional success. If your student needs any help or suggestions in getting involved please do not hesitate to contact me or our counselors.   In order to better serve our students during SRB we will be doing our normal monthly Celebrations Assemblies on the second Monday of each month instead of our traditional Wednesday.  This also allows us to do them later in the day and hopefully makes it easier for our parents to attend, they will start promptly at 3pm on the second Monday of each month.

I want to thank all of the parents who attended our Open House that we hosted last Tuesday.  This was a great opportunity to meet your son/daughter's teachers and if you missed it please do not hesitate to reach out to any/all of the teachers on your student's schedules for any questions or concerns as they arise.  You can also always contact me and I will get you the information or at least connected to the staff that will best be able to help you.

We have had a great start to our 2018 Tiger Athletic season with our volleyball team opening their season with a 9-1 record, our cross country team winning the Kelly Walsh Invitational, our swim team winning at home and of course our defending state champion golf teams both winning the Coach Berg Invite.  Our football team opened their season this past Friday with a tough 30-21 loss on the road at Green River.  All of our teams are on the road this week.  Please don't forget to follow us on Twitter @Fremont1_LVHS. All of our teams use this to keep fans and parents up to date and is usually the quickest way to find out all of the happenings for our teams.

Our first LVHS PIE meeting of the year Tuesday the 4th at 12pm in the LVHS Popo Agie room.  Fremont 1 is also hosting its first District-wide PIE Meeting on Tuesday with that meeting starting at 6pm in the Central Office Board Room.  The LVHS PIE Meetings are a great way for parents to quickly stay connected at LVHS with reports from our Student Council, Departments and myself each month.  I do hope that you will be able to make it and remember that the next one will be on Tuesday, October 2nd at 6pm in the LVHS Popo Agie Room.
