LVHS Principal blog post 09-30-2018
Although we still have plenty of work to do, LVHS scored quite well in the inaugural WY-Topp test last spring. As you can see in the chart below LVHS was well above the state average in every area tested with our Science scores actually coming in as the 4th best score in the entire state! This sets a great benchmark for our staff and students to continue to work to improve each and every day. I am still in the process of breaking down the scores of other schools, but I am quite pleased with how we fared against those that have frequently outperformed us in years past.
Congrats to our football team who won the annual Keeper of the Gold game against Riverton this past Friday on the road. This is the first time in five attempts that our boys have claimed the trophy and we are excited to host Rawlins this Friday at 7pm. Our volleyball defeated Thermopolis this Friday and will host the Conference Duals on Friday and Saturday in the Fieldhouse. Swim hosted and won a dual against Worland on Friday and then later dominated their meet on Saturday, they will head to conference foe Jackson on Saturday. The cross country team continues to pace themselves into a great position with a meet this weekend in Rock Springs, before hosting the conference meet next Friday at the Lander Country Club.
Parents don't forget that this Tuesday is our monthly PIE meeting. This week will include the normal agenda items, however we will also be talking about the Perkins Grant which helps to provide our high-quality Career-Technical Education Programs.
I hope everyone has a great week!
