Hello Tiger Family,

I want to thank all of those who were able to take the time to stop and visit with our teachers and staff during our Parent Teacher Conferences last Tuesday and Wednesday.  We had a good turnout and many great conversations about our our new approach to ensuring all students learning the priority standards for each class.  We received some feedback on the new report card and most of that has already been submitted to ICampus for changes to ensure a great product for our students and parents.  I would encourage you to solicit any other feedback you may have specific to the report card immediately so that we can ensure your thoughts are reflected in our final product.  Our teachers were excited about the ease of the conversations that happened because of the specific information in regards to the standards.  Thanks again for coming and as always, we are always open to your questions, thoughts, and conversation in regards to making LVHS the #1 school in everything that we do!

This week we are going to make a minor but great adjustment to our SRB time.  We have now designated certain times for certain departments to make sure students are taking care of their responsibilities in class.  Here is the schedule for when your student would need to report if they get a referral in the following academic areas:

  • Language Arts 2-2:45 Monday
  • Science 2:45-3:30 Monday
  • Math 2-2:30 on Wednesday
  • Social Studies/Foreign Language 3-3:30 on Friday

In the past we have allowed students to go during those time that they wanted/needed.  We are now requiring that any student with a referral in the areas list above go during that specific time to ensure that our students are meeting their responsibilities.  Students who fail to report during that time will make it up during their lunch period in another room.  Please encourage your student to go during the above times.

Our swim team had a fantastic finish to their regular season, qualifying another four girls to the State Swim meet this Thursday and Friday in Gillette.  LVHS now has a total of 23 girls who will swim/dive to defend the state championship for the Tigers.  Good Luck ladies!  Our volleyball team finished their season this weekend at their regional tournament at Riverton. Thanks for a great season ladies and we look forward to watching you next season.   The Speech and Debate team started their season with a Novice Camp in Jackson where our teams finished 1st and 2nd place.

This Tuesday we will host our annual Mix-It-Up Lunch Day, with many fun activities planned to get students to reach out to others during lunch and hopefully make a couple new friends.  This is always a great day at LVHS and we hope that you will encourage your student to stick around for the festivities!  On Wednesday our Seniors will participate in College Signing Day with the goal of having every student apply to at least one college or post secondary opportunity by the end of the day.  On Friday, November 10, LVHS will host it's annual Veteran's Day Assembly to honor those who have served.  This will begin at 1pm and the public is invited and encourage to come and support our troops, past and present.

The next PIE meeting will be at 12pm in the LVHS Popo Agie room on Tuesday, November 7th.  The District-wide PIE meeting will be at 6pm on Monday, November 20th.
