About our district

Welcome to Fremont County School District #1. We are a pre-K–12 public school district located along the east slope of the Wind River Mountain Range of West-Central Wyoming in Lander. Our 1840 students are the pulse of our community—in a district that encompasses a total land area of 3,147 square miles. As educators and community members, we work together to create an environment that promotes a desire to learn and succeed.

Our Goals

To improve academic achievement and performance for all students, we will:

  • increase performance in reading, writing, math, and science; and
  • develop performance measures in non-core content areas.

To ensure a safe and orderly school environment, we will:

  • implement crisis plans in all departments and buildings; and
  • maintain positive school environments that promote responsible, respectful, and safe behavior.

To ensure efficient and effective processes, we will:

  • utilize a continuous improvement model to address efficient and effective operations; and
  • Implement a communication plan that strengthens community relationships.
