Superintendent's Message

Hello and welcome to Fremont County School District #1! I am Mike Harris, and I am honored to serve as superintendent here in Lander. Our schools are consistently among the best Wyoming has to offer, and our staff members are committed to meeting the educational needs of each and every student. The district’s goal is to ensure that all students reach or exceed challenging academic targets, and our talented, dedicated instructional teams provide a wide array of intervention and enrichment services to help make that happen. We strive to create and maintain learning environments that are safe, secure, intellectually rigorous, and relevant to students’ lives outside of school. In addition, we offer an incredible variety of extracurricular activities to complement students’ classroom learning, and our student musicians, athletics teams, service organizations, and artists achieve great success throughout the state year after year.
