This week LMS celebrates our ELA staff!
The LMS ELA team works hard to meet students where they are as they prepare them for future academic success. In 6th grade, Mr. Prine builds such strong relationships that he has past students visiting him in the pod each morning. Mr. Prine is dedicated to growing himself as a teacher so that he can effectively grow his students. In 7th grade, Mr. Nichols has the daunting task of preparing students to take the WYTOPP writing test each spring. Mr. Nichols models constant growth and urgent learning as he helps students develop critical thinking skills. Ms. Zimmer, in 8th grade, is passionate about literacy and is dedicated to instilling a love of reading in all her students. She strives to know what makes each student tick, so they know she sees and appreciates who they are as humans. Finally, Mrs. Babits is our beloved LMS librarian. In addition to connecting kids with books, she coteaches the 8th grade enrichment class and assists in the development of the yearbook. Mrs. Babits is always willing to help and can find the positive in any situation. LMS is grateful to Team ELA for always being willing to take on new challenges to support high levels of learning and achievement!

Our second Saber Spotlight focuses on our front office staff. There's never a dull moment in the LMS office and our top-notch front office team shines every day!
Mrs. Greene and Mrs. Colman (the true bosses of our school) are busy all day long taking care of our students, staff and families. There's no problem they can't solve or question they can't answer. Our Saber Secretaries are superheroes in disguise!
Nurses, Mrs. Peters and Mr. Pruett, are also hopping each day, attending to student needs. Whether it's administering medication or providing a place to rest when the day gets tough, LMS nurses always have a smile and caring word for our Sabers.

LMS is kicking off a year-long series to honor our incredible staff.! This week starts with our building leaders, Mr. Morton and Mr. Horton., fondly known as The Ortons.
Mr. Morton seeks to bring balance to LMS by challenging Saber staff and students to strive for high levels of academic excellence while encouraging them to take time to appreciate the small moments in life. Mr. Horton recently started an outdoor learning initiative for 6th graders, called WROE, which brought students into the Wind River Mountains for place based learning.
