Gannett Peak is proud to announce that PE Teacher, Jerry Johnson, has been named November’s "Star Influencer of the Month"! Jerry was overwhelmingly nominated by his colleagues for always being the first to volunteer for duties, organizing staff celebrations, and offering smiles and helpful advice. As one colleague shared, "Jerry is an absolute rockstar about jumping in to help out! His positive attitude and go-get-em' mentality makes him an absolute asset to GPE!" Thank you, Mr. Johnson, for all you do.

A Call for Participants has been issued to serve on the 2026 Social Studies Standards Review Committee. The panel will look at the entire complement of Wyoming social studies standards, including the Indian Ed for All standards added in 2018. All 127 standards will be up for review and possible revision or deletion. Most of the work will occur online from January through May 2026. If selected, you will receive a stipend.

If you are interested in joining the work and having a say, please fill out this form before Dec. 12, 2025. You can also offer your feedback on the standards, which will be shared with the committee. Here is the link for providing input.

This week LMS celebrates our ELA staff!
The LMS ELA team works hard to meet students where they are as they prepare them for future academic success. In 6th grade, Mr. Prine builds such strong relationships that he has past students visiting him in the pod each morning. Mr. Prine is dedicated to growing himself as a teacher so that he can effectively grow his students. In 7th grade, Mr. Nichols has the daunting task of preparing students to take the WYTOPP writing test each spring. Mr. Nichols models constant growth and urgent learning as he helps students develop critical thinking skills. Ms. Zimmer, in 8th grade, is passionate about literacy and is dedicated to instilling a love of reading in all her students. She strives to know what makes each student tick, so they know she sees and appreciates who they are as humans. Finally, Mrs. Babits is our beloved LMS librarian. In addition to connecting kids with books, she coteaches the 8th grade enrichment class and assists in the development of the yearbook. Mrs. Babits is always willing to help and can find the positive in any situation. LMS is grateful to Team ELA for always being willing to take on new challenges to support high levels of learning and achievement!
